Arusha, the gateway to a Safari in Tanzania
Arusha is the gateway to your African dream. This town is where hundreds of thousands descend each year to take a Safari in Tanzania. Arusha itself, is home to around 400,000 people.
The town itself is nestled under Africa's fifth highest mountain, Mt. Meru. Mt. Meru is very beautiful and casts a protective shadow on this bustling town. On a clear day, one can see Meru's bigger brother in the distance: I speak of the highest free standing mountain in the world, Mt. Kilimanjaro of course.
Getting to your Safari in Tanzania via Arusha
Arusha is served by Kilimanjaro International Airport, which is about an hour outside of the town. This is a small, quaint airport but it allows this town to operate as an international destination, thus further enhancing its reputation as the gateway to the Northern Circuit and the gateway to your African dream. The airport itself has regular flights to Amsterdam with KLM, and to Addis Ababa, Dar es Salaam, Zanzibar and Nairobi.
